Toner & Printer Cartridge Return Policy

At The Cartridge Depo South Africa, our return policy complies with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

Change-of-Mind Returns

Change-of-mind returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase only if the product is:

  • New and unused
  • Unopened in the original packaging
  • In resalable condition
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

Opened or used toner and printer cartridges are not eligible for change-of-mind returns. However, this does not affect your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act if the product is defective.

A reasonable handling or re-stocking fee may apply where permitted under the Consumer Protection Act.

Defective Products ā€“ Your CPA Rights

Under Section 56 of the South African Consumer Protection Act, consumers receive an automatic 6-month implied warranty on defective goods.

If a cartridge is defective, unsafe, or not fit for its intended purpose during normal use, you may choose one of the following remedies:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Refund

These statutory rights apply regardless of any store policy and cannot be excluded or limited.

30-Day Supplier Warranty

In addition to your rights under the CPA, The Cartridge Depo provides a 30-day limited supplier warranty on compatible and remanufactured cartridges against manufacturing defects.

This voluntary supplier warranty does not cover:

  • Misuse or improper installation
  • Printer-related faults or damage
  • Electrical faults unrelated to the cartridge
  • Normal toner or ink depletion
  • Physical damage, abuse or tampering

These exclusions apply only to the voluntary supplier warranty and do not limit or replace any rights provided under the South African Consumer Protection Act.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 10 working days after the returned product has been received, inspected, and approved.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned for change-of-mind unless they are defective under the CPA:

  • Opened or used toner and ink cartridges
  • Empty or partially used consumables
  • Products that have been damaged or tampered with
  • Special-order or custom-order items
  • Clearance or non-returnable products clearly marked at the time of sale
