At The Cartridge Depo South Africa, we are committed to supplying quality printer consumables and providing reliable customer support. This Warranty Information explains the warranty coverage applicable to products purchased from The Cartridge Depo.

1. Supplier Warranty

The Cartridge Depo provides a limited supplier warranty on compatible and remanufactured ink and toner cartridges against manufacturing defects and faulty workmanship under normal intended use.

Unless otherwise stated, compatible and remanufactured cartridges are covered by a 30-day supplier warranty from the date of delivery.

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) products are covered by the applicable manufacturer's warranty and terms.

2. What This Warranty Covers

  • Manufacturing defects;
  • Faulty cartridge performance during normal intended use;
  • Print quality issues caused directly by a cartridge defect;
  • Defective components or workmanship;
  • Incorrectly supplied products.

3. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Normal toner or ink depletion through use;
  • Damage resulting from misuse, negligence, abuse, or improper storage;
  • Incorrect installation or handling;
  • Use in incompatible printers, devices, or systems;
  • Physical damage, tampering, modification, or refilling;
  • Electrical faults, printer defects, or damage unrelated to the cartridge;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Products damaged after delivery due to customer actions or external causes.

4. Consumer Protection Act

Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes any rights available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 ("CPA").

In accordance with Section 56 of the CPA, consumers may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund for defective goods within six (6) months of delivery, subject to the provisions of the CPA.

5. Warranty Claims

To submit a warranty claim:

  • Proof of purchase is required;
  • The product may need to be returned for inspection and testing;
  • Customers may be requested to provide sample printouts, photographs, or additional information to assist with troubleshooting;
  • Claims should be reported as soon as reasonably possible after the defect is discovered.

6. Warranty Remedies

If a warranty claim is approved, The Cartridge Depo may, at its discretion and where permitted by law:

  • Replace the product;
  • Repair the product where applicable; or
  • Provide a refund in accordance with applicable law.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Cartridge Depo shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of its products.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.
